Soft eyes. Gentle heart. Busy little nose. This is Chicki Nikki! This sweet soul is 52 pounds of tender sweetness with a hound’s curiosity and a lab-like devotion tucked inside. She’s estimated to be around 4 years old and may be a Lab/Hound mix, though as always with rescue, breed and birthday are our best guess.

Chicki Nikki moves through the world with a calm, thoughtful energy. On leash she is lovely and steady, welcoming of touch and happy to check in with her person as she explores. She met dogs big and small with polite, easy manners. A friendly hello, a respectful sniff, and then she’s content to wander off and follow the next interesting scent-trail. No drama. No fuss. Just quiet peacefulness.
Her nose is her compass outside. The grass, the breeze, the tiniest crumb of a story in the dirt… it’s all fascinating to her. Inside, she is sweet, gentle, and very treat motivated, which makes bonding and continued training a joyful experience. She did well with a small dog and was friendly and respectful with a house cat, easily able to move along after saying hello.
Chicki Nikki would shine in a home that offers peaceful, predictable love and appreciates a dog who enjoys both companionship and a little independent exploring. She carries a calm presence and a soft eagerness to belong. Give her kindness, a steady routine, and a handful of treats, and you’ll see her blossom more each day.
If you’re ready for a gentle soul with a curious nose and a heart ready for steady love, Chicki Nikki is ready and waiting. Apply today and let her start her next, and best, chapter with you.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
