Meet June
Meet June, a beautiful Black and Tan Coonhound who is ready to trade her past for a soft bed, a comfy couch, and a family of her own.
June is 4 years old and 54 pounds, and she is a pretty easygoing girl. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys playing with them, but she is definitely more of a low-energy, laid-back kind of girl. She also loves a good Benebone and is always happy to hang out with her people.
June is friendly with everyone, rides well in the car, and is a great walker on leash. Her nose does have a mind of its own, though, so a securely fenced yard is a must. A Coonhound following an interesting scent is not going to stop and think, "Maybe I should stay home."
She uses a dog door, although she much prefers when you go outside with her for potty breaks. She isn't particularly enthusiastic about being outside, which may be understandable considering she spent much of her life living outdoors. Inside is definitely where she seems happiest.
June is crate trained, but she will let you know her feelings if she is crated and can see you. Basically, if she knows you're right there, she would like to know why she's not invited.
And then there's that Coonhound nose... June has been known to follow it straight to the treasures left on the kitchen counter. So keeping the counters clear is going to be part of her forever-home training.
June is looking for a home where she can enjoy the simple things: good walks, dog friends, a comfy place to nap, a Benebone, and people who will appreciate her sweet, slightly goofy Coonhound personality.
