Meet Steve (ID #19316)
Steve came to us as an unclaimed stray, and this sweet approximately two-year-old Bichon Frise mix has quickly won over everyone he meets.
Steve is a happy, friendly, and affectionate boy who greets people with enthusiasm and loves spending time with the staff. He has done wonderfully meeting other dogs, showing off his playful and polite side. He has also been comfortable around larger dogs and may enjoy having a canine companion in his new home with a proper introduction.
Steve is gentle and easy to handle. He is not nippy or sensitive to handling, and he was wonderful for his exam and triage. We believe he could do well in a home with children who understand how to interact respectfully with dogs.
Like any young pup, Steve has a little learning to do! He would benefit from some positive-reinforcement obedience classes to help him work on his leash skills and enthusiasm for greeting people without jumping up. Daily physical exercise and mental enrichment will help him thrive.
During his veterinary exam, Steve was found to be cryptorchid. Otherwise, he appears to be a healthy young dog.
With his cheerful personality, affectionate nature, and love for people, Steve is an easy boy to connect with and has so much potential to be a wonderful companion. We think this happy little guy would make a lovely addition to the right family.
Steve is looking for a foster-to-adopt home until his neuter! Could Steve be the missing piece in your family? Come meet him and see for yourself!
