5 Years Old Female Belgian Malinois Mix Available for Adoption

Nona is a beautiful, sweet-natured 5-year-old Belgian Malinois mix who has spent far too much of her life being overlooked.

After spending her entire life confined to a backyard, Nona was surrendered to the Downey Animal Shelter, where she found herself on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, Concerned Citizens Animal Rescue stepped in to give this deserving girl the second chance she so desperately needed.

Despite everything she’s endured, Nona has the most incredible spirit! She’s gentle, affectionate, playful, and wonderfully submissive. She absolutely LOVES playing fetch and is happiest when she’s chasing a ball or spending time with people who show her kindness.

Nona is good with children, having lived with them in her previous home. She can also do well with other dogs when given proper introductions, continued confidence building, and the time she needs to feel comfortable and secure.

Even better, Nona is already potty trained and can comfortably be left home alone for several hours without experiencing separation anxiety! She’s learning to walk beautifully on a leash and continues to gain confidence as she discovers life beyond the backyard she once knew.

Sadly, Nona’s lower front teeth are significantly worn down, possibly from chewing on rocks, fencing, or other hard objects during her years of neglect. But her past hasn’t taken away her ability to love or trust.

She’s currently thriving in a wonderful foster home with a loving foster mom and dad who are showing her what it means to be part of a family.

Nona deserves more than a backyard. She deserves a home. A soft bed. Adventures. A family who adores her. And the security of knowing she’ll never be abandoned again.

Her ideal family will be patient, loving, and committed to helping her continue building confidence as she discovers the beautiful world beyond the backyard she once knew.
