Shadows world changed overnight. Now he needs a new beginning. Sometimes surrendering a beloved dog isn't about a lack of love. Shadow's family never imagined they would have to say goodbye. His mom was looking forward to a new chapter after her son turned eighteen and was preparing to move out. But tragedy struck when he was involved in a devastating accident that left him paralyzed. Now her entire life has changed. Her days are devoted to caring for her son and with the overwhelming responsibilities ahead, she made the heartbreaking decision to ask for help so Shadow could have the life he deserved. At only four months old, he has proven to be a perfect puppy! He's a sweet, happy little guy who has never met a stranger. He loves people, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and has the kind easy going personality everyone hopes to find when they adopt a dog. He's affectionate, friendly, and ready to become someone's loyal best friend. This dog isn't one who was unwanted....this a dog who was deeply loved by a family facing unimaginable circumstances! Currently in a foster home in NC, he would be available for a face time with his foster mom and would be transported to an approved adopter anywhere along the east coast from SC to ME

Originating from Africa, these intelligent and curious dogs are independent, agile, and alert, making them excellent companions for active individuals or families with experience handling their assertive nature. Recognized for their clean habits and cat like grooming behavior, basenjis require regular exercise and mental stimulation to thrive in a loving home environment.

The Belgian Shepherd Laekenois is a medium-sized, sturdy and elegant dog breed known for its distinctive coat of coarse, tousled fur. Originating from Belgium, they are highly intelligent and versatile working dogs, excelling in various fields such as herding, obedience, agility, and search and rescue. With a loyal and protective nature, they make excellent family companions and are vigilant watchdogs. The Belgian Shepherd Laekenois requires ample physical and mental stimulation to thrive and must receive consistent training and socialization from an experienced owner.
