Meet Neo
Neo is learning what it means to simply be a dog. After coming from Ridglan Farms, where he was bred for laboratory experimentation, he is now discovering the comforts of life in a loving foster home and he's making progress every day.
This sweet boy absolutely loves toys, snuggles, and being close to his people. He thrives on affection and enjoys having other dogs around to help him feel safe and confident. While he seems to enjoy his furry foster siblings, he's starting to feel protective of his foster parents attention and is practicing sharing, which is hard when this is the first time you've had something worth protecting. His future family should be experienced with resource guarding or have a trainer engaged to continue what he's working on with his foster family.
Because the world is still very new to him, Neo will need a patient family committed to helping him build confidence. He has little to no leash experience and will require a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore and play at his own pace. He's also still working on potty training skills, although things seems to have started clicking in this area for him recently. Expect some regression in a new location.
Neo does not enjoy being alone and would be happiest in a home where someone is around often. Baths are definitely not his favorite thing, but with kindness and patience, he continues to learn that life can be safe and gentle.
Neo likely won't be able to be boarded at a kennel for a future vacation so his people should be prepared to hire an in-home pet sitter.
Underneath his timid moments is a loving, affectionate dog who just wants comfort, companionship, and a place to belong. Watching Neo blossom is incredibly rewarding, and the right family will be lucky to be part of his journey.
