Beagle Dogs Available for Adoption in Orange, Virginia

Meadows is a 6-year-old, 17-pound Beagle who spent time running as a stray on one of the local golf courses before he was finally safely trapped and brought to the shelter.

When Meadows first arrived he was extremely dirty and heavily infested with ticks, clear signs that he had been fending for himself for quite some time. Since coming into our care he has been treated for the ticks and given a much-needed bath to help him start fresh.

Meadows is a shy and sensitive little guy who is still adjusting to shelter life. At first he stayed very quiet, taking everything in. Now that he’s settling a bit, he has started to find his voice and will call out when someone walks past his kennel, hoping for a little attention.

We believe Meadows would benefit greatly from a calm home and may gain confidence from having a friendly canine companion to help show him the ropes. Like many dogs who have been living on their own, he will need a little time and patience to decompress and learn that he is safe.

Meadows has now been neutered, and his cherry eye has been surgically addressed.

Meadows is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested, and on monthly preventatives.
