Elvis (aka Elvie) - Beagle and Jack Russell Terrier Dog for Adoption in Michigan City, Indiana

Elvis is not a typical high-energy, on-the-go hound-like boy...he is a chill fella who we think would thrive in a calm, quiet home setting with people who also prefer very little commotion. In fact, one of Elvis's favorite things to do is snuggle and be near his people

Elvis is still figuring out the ropes here at the shelter. He can be unsure and nervous at times so please be willing to be patient when you come to visit him. Once he trusts you, he solicits affection and loves to be close to you

If there are other dogs in the home, he asks that they have a similar energy level; co-existing is how he is content! Children should be about 12ish and older. We are still observing him around cat friends.

In his previous home, he did very well with being house-trained and was not destructive when left alone. Elvis knows how to stay, lie down, sit, roll over, and shake paws.

We would love to see Elvis lose a few pounds at a healthy rate. Elvis also tested positive for Lyme disease but has not shown symptoms that we have observed. It'd be great for his adopter to ensure he has access to a nice, competent vet in case he does become symptomatic.

Elvis weighs about 55 pounds, is a little over eight years old and is neutered
