This 1-year-old male beagle is a young and sensitive pup who is still trying to build confidence in new environments. During his assessment, he appeared very nervous around people and unfamiliar situations, often retreating, avoiding eye contact, and struggling to fully relax. He showed little interest in toys and seemed too unsure to engage in play at this time. While he was hesitant overall, he did cautiously accept food when given space, showing that with patience and gentle encouragement, he may slowly begin to feel more comfortable and trusting.

He interacted positively with other dogs and may benefit greatly from a calm and confident canine companion to help him continue learning about the world. This sweet boy is looking for a patient adopter who understands fearful dogs and is willing to let him move at his own pace. With consistency, kindness, and a quiet environment, he has the potential to continue gaining confidence and developing into a loyal companion. He may be shy at first, but underneath it all is a gentle young beagle who simply needs time to feel safe.
