Paxton is the kind of older Beagle who quietly steals your heart. This sweet senior gentleman is beginning to come out of his shell, and every day his gentle personality shines a little brighter. Easygoing and affectionate, Paxton enjoys spending time with people and is happy to soak up a little extra attention. He's doing well walking on a leash, gets along nicely with other dogs, and has the calm, steady nature that makes him a wonderful companion.
Paxton is from the Ridglan Farms test facility. These Beagles are generally affectionate, resilient, and eager to experience the joys of life beyond the laboratory. At the same time, they have unique needs. Many are naturally skittish and easily frightened, making them significant flight risks. They also possess the curiosity, determination, and remarkable sense of smell that have been bred into Beagles for more than 500 years. Once a Beagle catches an interesting scent, following it is instinct, not disobedience.
Because of this, there are a few extra steps to the adoption process. Veterinary records are reviewed, applicants are asked to complete a questionnaire and watch a Zoom session that includes frank discussions and realistic expectations.
