Evan - Beagle Dog for Adoption

Come Meet Evan.

About a year ago, a scared little dog was found alone in the woods near Evan, Louisiana. He was suffering from a devastating injury to his front right legan injury so severe that despite everyones best efforts, the leg could not be saved.

Most dogs would have every reason to give up.

Evan never did.

Instead, he healed. He adapted. He learned how to run, play, explore, and love life all over again. Today, Evan is a happy, playful, goofy little tripod who doesnt spend a second feeling sorry for himself.

In fact, the only thing Evan seems to be missing these days is a family of his very own.

We believe Evan is a Beagle mix, and he has all the wonderful qualities youd hope for. He walks beautifully on a leash, loves people, enjoys other dogs, and greets life with a wagging tail and a heart that somehow grew even bigger after everything hes been through.

And then there are the hugs.

Oh, the hugs.

When Evan leans into you and wraps that one little front leg around your arm, its impossible not to melt. They may very well be the sweetest one-legged hugs on the planet.

This amazing boy has waited while other dogs came and went. Puppies grew up and found homes. New rescues arrived and left with families.

And Evan waited.

Hes waited through surgeries, recovery, foster care, and countless nights wondering when his turn would finally come.

This sweet boy traveled more than 1,300 miles from Louisiana to New York in hopes that somewhere along the way, his family would find him.

We would absolutely love for Evan to find his forever home here in New York.

Because while he'll happily make the ride if he has to, wed really rather this amazing little tripod not have to travel all the way back to Louisiana still wondering when his turn will come.

Time for a couch to claim.
Time for a family to adore.
Time for someone to see beyond the missing leg and realize that this boy is absolutely whole.

Because Evan didnt lose his ability to love.

He didnt lose his spirit.

He didnt lose his joy.

He just lost a leg.

And if were being honest, he handles life better on three legs than most of us do on two.
