Lily - Beagle Dog for Adoption in Elk Grove, California

Lily was found, along with several other dogs, eating trash behind a Home Depot store. They all landed in a shelter in Southern California. After Lily spent a month there, we pulled her and brought her to Northern California.

She is a beagle mix, with smooth white fur and brown markings. She weighs 35 pounds. Lily is a younger girl. The vet estimated her age at 9 months, while the shelter thought she is a couple years old. This girl, though, is past the puppy stage -- no high energy or chewing.

Lily is a very sweet and gentle soul. She came out of the shelter timid and afraid but has decompressed and grown considerably over the past couple of weeks in our care. While Lily would not walk out of the shelter (see photo), she has started walking on the leash. She is good with other dogs and started playing with her foster siblings. She has become comfortable laying on the bed and sofa. She likes to snuggle and be close, including getting tummy rubs. Lily even will offer her paw if she wants attention or a pet.

Lily has been spayed, gotten her shots, and now has a microchip. This mellow and quiet angel has come a long way from where she started. In a peaceful and safe setting, the real dog will continue to emerge. Lily deserves the love and security of a permanent home, where she can be someone's sweet beagle mix friend.
