Have a break, have a kit kat! Or in this case, meet Kit Kat, a 3-year-old Beagle/Hound mix, weighing 45-50 pounds (as of 5/3/26). Hailing from Mississippi, this boy was surrendered by his owner and hopes to bring his sugary sweetness to your home!
If you're looking for a furry friend who embodies joy and playfulness, look no further than Kit Kat! This spirited guy is a bundle of happiness, always sporting a big smile with those sparkling eyes that light up the room. Seriously, he recommends wearing shades when you're in his presence. His charisma really is that bright!
Kit Kat loves to run and play, making him the perfect companion for active families or individuals who enjoy outdoor adventures. He'd do best in a home with older children since he might play a little too hard with the littler kiddos. Whether it's chasing after a ball or exploring new trails, Kit Kat is always ready for fun! Why do you think they say to have a break?
Kit Kat has lived with various dogs of all ages. He hasn't met cats yet, but maybe one day! Kit Kat does fine with leashes, but he'll occasionally pull if he's excited. Because of the drastic change from living as an inside dog with a family to now being in an outside kennel without a family, Kit Kat does have some anxiety, but hopefully getting adopted will make a difference. He has experience being crated (though he's not a fan) and we presume he's house-trained. He'll still need patience with potty once he adjusts to your home. For your help, he'll set you up with a mega supply of Kit Kat chocolate bars! Just be sure to check the expiration date. He may or may not have saved them from 3 Halloweens ago!
Break a piece of that Kit Kat and bring him home today!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.
To adopt or learn more about Kit Kat you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] **
PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
