Now that her adorable pups are getting ready to leave for their forever homes, it’s time to shine the spotlight on Brittanie. This charming girl is a 20-pound mixed breed, with a lineage that might include beagle, dachshund, whippet, Italian greyhound, Chihuahua, and fox hound, only a DNA test could provide the definitive answer.

Brittanie is a solid 10 out of 10! She is steady, confident, and resilient … everything you could want in a companion. Already house-trained and crate-trained, she walks like a dream on a leash. Quiet and non-destructive, she is great for grooming, rides well in the car, and is a model patient at the vet. Above all, she possesses an unbelievably loving temperament.

At approximately 3 years old, Brittanie delivered her 8 pups under a foundation slab in Puerto Rico. She and her three-week-old pups were flown on a private jet and lovingly welcomed by Paw Pals and Heaven Can Wait, in New York who have been fostering them ever since.

Now, Brittanie is spending more time in her own foster home in Congers NY away from the pups, and she is thriving in every way! She gets along famously with dogs of all sizes and is a joy to have around. If you work from home, be prepared to share your chair; she loves to keep you company!

Throughout the stress and transition, Brittanie has been a rock-star mom. Her temperament is so soothing that she is now visiting nursing homes to bring joy to others. The ideal home for Brittanie is one filled with love and stability—she deserves to be treated kindly and adored. She enjoys walks and snuggles, and she’s good with everyone … kids, dogs, and people alike. We will be testing her with cats this week, but we suspect she will do just fine!
