Welcome Gretchen to SFBR

Meet our newest intake, Gretchen (#A1105709), a sweet little 8-year-old Cheagle (beagle/chihuahua mix) with the happiest spirit. She is friendly, loving, and always seeking attention.

Gretchen was found as a stray and brought to the county shelter in Fort Myers, where no one ever came for her.

Gretchen does have a few health concerns we will be addressing. She has a heart murmur and an enlarged heart, along with some coughing that may be related to her heart condition or maybe a respiratory issue. She also has dental disease, some mammary masses that will need to be evaluated, and mild arthritis. Despite all of this, she remains happy and full of love.

Given her health issues, we did not want to risk her being euthanized at the shelter and decided it was best to pull her.

Gretchen will need ongoing medical care and a foster home where she can decompress and finally feel safe.

Let's give Gretchen the second chance she deserves.
