Peanut - Basset Hound Dog for Adoption in Silver Spring, Maryland

Peanut is a 2 year old Basset Hound who loves everyone she meets, thinks every dog is automatically her best friend, and has absolutely no concept of personal space.

Her favorite activities include playing with her dog friends, tug, wrestling, bitey face, chase, you name it, she's all about it.

She also enjoys going for walks, car rides, supervising the neighborhood from the window, and generally making sure nobody in the household forgets she exists.

She is incredibly affectionate and would 100% get into a stranger's van if they offered her belly rubs. Peanut will happily climb into your lap for attention despite having absolutely no understanding of how much space a Basset Hound is supposed to take up. Spoiler: Peanut believes the answer is ALL of it.

Peanut is "athletic" for a basset. She can jump impressively high, especially if food is involved.

Peanut is looking for an active family who will appreciate her goofy personality and continue working on her manners.

Peanut MUST have another playful dog in her forever home. She needs a dog sibling who wants to wrestle, run around, and put up with her not knowing what personal space means.

She is not cat friendly and has a prey drive, so squirrels beware.
