Scrappy - Basset Hound Dog for Adoption in Fort Washington, Maryland

Millie and Scrappy are a young, active, bonded pair from different backgrounds. They need to be placed together in a loving home that appreciates the Basset Hound breed. The current owners are unable to continue caring for both. We are seeking a responsible and reliable family with a fenced yard to foster and/or adopt both hounds.

BHRL will be paying for Scrappy's "cherry eye surgery" prior to his adoption. We would appreciate a donation of $500+ for the Basset Hound pair which will help cover some of the cost.

Scrappy's listed birthday is approximate. He is 3 1/2 - 4 years old.

The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.
