Say hello to Maizie Jo, a gentle soul with a heart as soft as her name suggests. Rescued from China, Maizie Jo has been through more than most dogs ever should - but you'd never know it from her sweet, trusting nature.
This lovely girl is a perfect mix of resilience and affection. She adores people, loves cuddles, and has a calm, kind spirit that wins over everyone she meets. Maizie Jo is the type of dog who will rest her head on your lap and look at you with eyes full of gratitude.
With help from Run 2 the Rescue, Hope4Fur, and support from The Andy Sabin Family Foundation, nine beautiful dogs have successfully been saved from a life of cruelty. Maizie Jo is one of them, and now she's ready to start her new life surrounded by love.
ABOUT: BASSET HOUND DOG BREED
The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.
