Basset Hound Dogs Available for Adoption in Brookville, Ohio

He is a sweet boy, housebroken, well mannered, and walks well on a leash! He is good with other dogs, has not been cat tested, and will need a home with a fenced in yard. Harley came to us because his former owners were no longer to care for him after a change in their living situation. He did come in with his sister who is not yet spayed. Harley is neutered and up-to-date on all of his shots until July. Harley currently weighs 66 pounds, and per the Vet should lose about 10 pounds. Otherwise he is in great health! Harley is currently located in the Columbus area and his adoption fee is $300.

Adoption Process:

To meet one our dogs you must first fill out our application on our website ohiobassetrescue.com. Once submitted one of our volunteers will reach out to you. Upon approval you will be given an approval code to email us at ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com. Approvals are good for 6 months for any current or future dogs. After 6 months you will be directed to fill out an updated application. Please note we only process applications where the adopter lives in OH, IN, KY, PA, WV, lower MI. Adopters must be willing to travel to meet the dog they are adopting. Dogs locations are listed on their profile description on our website. Dogs are NOT all located in Brookville, that is our mailing address. Please understand we are all volunteers and will respond as soon as we can as we all have jobs and family obligations.

The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.
