Blue - Basset Hound Dog for Adoption in Auburndale, Florida

Welcome Blue! Blue is a handsome 2-year-old who has seen a lot of family changes in his short life.

His original owner purchased him from a breeder, but shortly afterward, she found herself in the midst of a separation, and Blue went to live with a family member. The arrangement was initially meant to be temporary, but it became clear that Blue deserved a family of his very own so that he could thrive and enjoy his basset life.

Blue has a sweet temperament and is good with dogs, cats, and kids. He would love a fenced yard and some buddies to play with. He'd also like a family that can hang with him at home and also include him on adventures!

Blue needs to do some catching up on a few medical issues so he's all ship shape for his next chapter.

The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.
