Hi, my name is Waldo!
I'm a confident, happy-go-lucky pup with a big sense of adventure and an even bigger heart. From the moment I met my foster siblings, I jumped right in-literally! We were running and playing together right away, and they warmed up to me instantly (which I'm told doesn't always happen). I love being part of a pack and naturally stick close to my dog friends on walks. If you call me, I'll come running right back-no hesitation!
I'm super food-motivated, which makes learning new things fun and rewarding. I'm also curious about the world around me-people, dogs, and all the interesting smells along the way. I might pause to investigate (or roll in something stinky...oops), but I'm easily redirected and eager to keep moving. Even with my short legs, I can keep up just fine-I recently went on a 3.5-mile adventure and loved every minute of it!
When it comes to meeting new people, I can be a little shy at first, but give me a few treats and a little time, and I'll warm up quickly. I've shown interest in other dogs on leash but haven't had any negative reactions. I've even been doing well with a cat staying in my foster home!
I'm still working on learning how to relax and settle down. I can get a little bit of FOMO (fear of missing out), especially if I think something fun is happening without me. I do best when I have guidance-like being on a leash, tether, or in my crate. I may take a few minutes to settle at first, but I'm getting better every day, especially when I have calm dog friends nearby to show me the ropes.
I seem to be housebroken and am continuing to build great habits in my foster home. With a little structure, patience, and consistency, I'm going to make an amazing companion.
