Scooby is a 10-month-old, 38 lb Basset Hound/Poodle mix with a heart as big as his floppy ears. This sweet boy may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up, his loving personality really starts to shine.

Scooby came from a home where he was trained to use pee pads, so he’s still learning the ropes of going potty outside—but he’s making great progress every day! He absolutely loves being outdoors and will happily bounce around the yard like a little bunny, soaking it all in.

He’s a gentle, affectionate pup who enjoys being around people. Scooby likes to explore his surroundings but will always come back to check in—he just wants to know you’re nearby. He’s also a big fan of giving hugs (not always on command!), so he’ll do best in a home where tiny kiddos won’t get accidentally knocked over by his enthusiasm.

Scooby can be a bit timid in new situations, especially when meeting new people or navigating doorways, and may need a little patience and encouragement. When he gets nervous—or even extra excited—he might do a little “tinkle,” but this improves as he settles in and feels more comfortable.

Scooby does well around other animals, but he is very curious and can be overwhelming for some animals.

He walks fairly well on a leash and is continuing to build his confidence every day. With a patient, understanding home and a consistent routine, Scooby is going to blossom into an incredible companion.

If you’re looking for a sweet, slightly goofy, and deeply loving pup to grow with, Scooby might just be your perfect match
