Lynn (also known as Lynne or Lynnie) is a lovely, beautiful little girl with a big personality packed into her unique, low-to-the-ground body. At about a year old and around 26–27 pounds of solid muscle, she has the adorable face and occasional bay of a beagle paired with the long, low shape of a dachshund. She’s incredibly affectionate and happiest right next to her person—whether that means curled up on the couch or snuggled in your lap.
This playful girl loves to run and chase, especially if she can convince another dog to join her, though she’s just as happy entertaining herself. She enjoys stuffed and squeaky toys, chewing on benebones or nylabones, and exploring the yard with her curious nose always on the go. Despite her playful energy outdoors, Lynn can also be a total couch potato once she’s inside.
Lynn is housebroken and does a great job taking care of business when outside, even with plenty of distractions. She is crate trained, settling down after a few minutes, and currently uses her crate for meals and when left home alone. At night, she happily sleeps in bed with her people and dog friends. She rides quietly in the car in a crate and does well with a routine that includes regular outdoor time and companionship.
She’s smart and learning her manners, including waiting at doors. Lynn knows to sit and stay before going outside and usually does very well, though she may need an occasional reminder. She is still working on leash skills, as her strong nose and love of scents (and rabbits!) can make walks exciting. A front-clip harness and calm, low-distraction environments help set her up for success.
Lynn gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company, but she is not suited for a home with cats, bunnies, or other small animals due to her strong prey drive. She can be cautious and a bit anxious when meeting new people or dogs, and she may take a little extra time to warm up—especially with men or unfamiliar noises. Because of this, Lynn would do best in a home with older, respectful children who understand how to give her space while she builds confidence.
Lynn is looking for a home that will continue to guide her, appreciate her quirky charm, and give her plenty of love, playtime, and cozy snuggles.
