DESCRIPTION
No one who has ever walked the Humane Society corridor and approached the kennel of Bert and Ernie was able to continue beyond without stopping to gaze in amazement at the charming, mesmerizingly handsome beauty that is looking up at you with smiles that reach out and grab your heart in a loving embrace. If you walk away, it is with a smile on your face as your mind reflects the image of youth and innocent good-will that the pups are sharing. Ernie and his brother Bert are up for adoption either as a solo pup or hopefully as a pair of best friend brothers who are consummately matched in friendliness, energy, sociability, confidence and affection.
ABOUT: BASENJI DOG BREED
The Basenji is a small hunting dog known for its unique traits, including a highly distinctive yodel like sound instead of a typical bark, and the inability to bark like other dogs. Originating from Africa, these intelligent and curious dogs are independent, agile, and alert, making them excellent companions for active individuals or families with experience handling their assertive nature. Recognized for their clean habits and cat like grooming behavior, basenjis require regular exercise and mental stimulation to thrive in a loving home environment.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
