Penelope is not your average dog

Penelope is a small 30ish pound believed to be Basenji type mix. If there was ever a dog that screamed working dog, sporting dog, athletic dog — this is your girl.

Penelope is wicked smart and very fast. She would thrive in a home that could do agility, lures or something along those lines with her. Though her start to life was hard and she is fearful at first, once warmed up, she wants something to do. She is a great dog and has so much potential. She just needs someone to help her achieve it.

Please share Pepe far and wide and help us find her perfect person.

The Basenji is a small hunting dog known for its unique traits, including a highly distinctive yodel like sound instead of a typical bark, and the inability to bark like other dogs. Originating from Africa, these intelligent and curious dogs are independent, agile, and alert, making them excellent companions for active individuals or families with experience handling their assertive nature. Recognized for their clean habits and cat like grooming behavior, basenjis require regular exercise and mental stimulation to thrive in a loving home environment.
