Meet Stella!
At 5 years old and just 25 pounds, Stella is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart without ever demanding the spotlight. Gentle, sweet, and wonderfully soft-natured, she's happiest spending her days playing with her toys, (and is just as happy to retrieve a ball for you to toss again as she is tossing it for herself), taking on the roll of fun police for her foster siblings or simply relaxing near the people she trusts.
Stella can be a little shy when meeting new people, often peeking out from behind her foster mom's legs until she feels safe. She's affectionate in her own quiet way more like a cat than a Velcro dog and when she decides she'd like some love, shell softly place a paw on you to ask for attention.
Car rides and leash walks can still feel a little overwhelming for Stella, but her confidence grows more and more when she has another dog by her side. Because of that, she would thrive in a calm home with a fenced yard and possibly a friendly furry sibling to help her continue blossoming.
Some dogs make themselves known immediately. Stella is different she's the kind you fall in love with more and more every single day.

S.T.A.R. Group, Inc is a foster-based organization located in Corpus Christi, TX. All pets are in a foster home in South Texas and are transported once adopted. Our animals are listed in different cities throughout the country that has transport available.
Adoption Fee includes a microchip, all age-appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter, current on recommended preventions and a ride on the next available transport to their new families' area.
Applications are processed in the order they are received. S.T.A.R. Group is made up of volunteers, so please give us a couple of days to begin processing your application.

The Basenji is a small hunting dog known for its unique traits, including a highly distinctive yodel like sound instead of a typical bark, and the inability to bark like other dogs.
