DESCRIPTION
Meet Moo!
This petite girl came in as a surrender after her owners could no longer care for her. Moo does okay with other dogs, however we were told she can be possessive over her food with other animals, so she should be fed by herself / in her crate or another room. Moo would do best in a home without cats, however she did live with cats prior.
Moo can be a bit timid at first meet, but it doesn't take long for her to become trusting and lean into your touch! Interested in applying? Visit dewittcountyil.gov to apply.
ABOUT: AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD DOG BREED
The Australian Shepherd is a highly intelligent and energetic herding dog known for its loyalty and work ethic. Originating in the United States, despite its name, this breed is prized for its agility, trainability, and versatility in various dog sports and activities. Australian Shepherds have a distinctive medium length coat that comes in different colors, often with unique merle patterns. With proper training, socialization, and exercise, these dogs make excellent companions for active families and individuals seeking a devoted and playful four legged friend.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
