DESCRIPTION

Honey couldn't have gotten a better name, because this special girl is sugary sweetness! You may remember her as the pup abandoned at a local boarding facility before making her way to us. She has balance issues that have been diagnosed by our vet as cerebral hypoplasia.

Cerebral hypoplasia is a brain condition in which the cerebellum - the part of the brain that controls movement and balance - doesn't fully develop. In animals, it's also referred to as "wobbly dog/cat syndrome," because a wobbly gait is the most significant marker. Thankfully, Honey's case is pretty mild compared to some. However, it also affects her eyesight, so while she can see, her vision isn't perfect. There is no treatment, surgery, or medication for cerebral hypoplasia, so this is just who this precious gal is. Despite her slight wobbliness, she's so determined and resilient, and really gets around just fine. She can live a long, happy life if someone is willing to help her navigate the world in her own special way. In turn, you'll get so much sweet love and loyalty!

Honey is just shy of a year old and is a happy, playful, snuggly and good-natured girl who is good with everyone - people, other dogs and cats. She is very frightened of loud noises such as lawnmower or weedwackers, and tends to freak out a little. Due to this, small kids who may accidentally get hurt might not be the best fit. Honey will be spayed and microchipped soon, and is up to date on vaccines.
