Meet Nova! Nova is a beautiful 4-year-old Miniature American Shepherd weighing approximately 43 pounds who is ready for a fresh start with the right family. She was surrendered when her previous family was no longer able to care for her. This smart girl is house trained and crate trained and, according to her previous family, has done well with dogs and children. Nova is an active, intelligent girl who will thrive with an experienced owner who can provide structure, exercise, continued training, and plenty of mental stimulation. She does have some escape-artist tendencies, so a securely fenced yard, proper containment, and responsible supervision will be especially important in her new home. Nova is not recommended for homes with small dogs, cats, or chickens. Nova is looking for someone who understands her needs and is ready to give this bright girl the consistency and commitment she deserves. Her adoption fee is $125. Nova is spayed, microchipped, and current on her rabies vaccination and annual boosters. She did test heartworm positive, but thanks to our wonderful partnership with Rockwall PAWS, her heartworm treatment is sponsored. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.
