Meet Shoto, a handsome 4-year-old Australian Shepherd looking for a loving, active family to call his own.

Shoto is a friendly and affectionate boy who enjoys being with his people, going for walks, and joining in on adventures. He has basic obedience and is house-trained.

He is friendly with small dogs but can be sensitive around larger dogs, particularly Golden Retrievers. If a larger dog barks at him or makes him uncomfortable, he may become nervous and bark back. He is also interested in chasing cats, so a cat-free home would be the best fit.

Shoto currently gets two 30-minute walks a day and would benefit from a more active lifestyle with additional exercise and enrichment. He can be reactive toward cyclists and other moving objects while on leash, so his new family should be comfortable continuing leash training and providing consistent guidance.

Shoto developed a cataract in his left eye, which eventually became blind and painful. His veterinarian noted that the cataract may have been related to a previous eye injury. His left eye was surgically removed on July 24, 2026, and he was neutered at the same time. His pre-surgical bloodwork was acceptable for surgery.

Shoto is now adjusting to life as a one-eyed dog and is looking for a committed family who will give him the exercise, enrichment, training, and companionship he needs.
