Howdy! I'm Cricket. No, I'm not a bug. Crickets in many cultures symbolize good luck, wisdom, creativity and protection. What more could you ask for from a new best friend. Im a 4 year old Mini Australian Shepherd. I truly am the epitome of a velcro dog but I don't get under foot. I'm usually a step behind or to your side. If my foster was smarter, that would be where he'd look first instead of calling for me when I'm already there. I've gotten pretty good on the leash. I still like to cross over on occasion or pull, but I'm really in a hurry to see what's ahead. We do about 2.5 to 3 miles each morning and I'm always exposed to something new. I'm not a big fan of car rides but I'm working on it. I get nervous and occasionally get sick. Most of the time the end destination is the office where I usually just sleep the day away next to his chair. I'm not a big fan of crates either. My foster learned pretty quick he could trust me. I didn't destroy anything or disturb them while sleeping. But I do get excited to see them each morning. I've been told I'm pretty awesome since I've never had an accident in the house. And I've come to like this guy, so I'm pretty good at recall when he calls. I will say I was slow on adapting to my new surroundings so didn't eat well for a few weeks but now I gladly eat whatever is put in front of me. I wasn't food motivated and wasnt sure about those things they called treats but now I know better and see them as special. I've found I can trust my people. And when foster dad says he'll be back...he does. I would love nothing more than to lay on the couch being pet all day. I'm certain I'd love to sleep in the humans bed but that is not allowed in my foster home. Ive learned where my place to sleep is. The meowing animals (kitties) seem to control the bedrooms end of the house. I'm curious about them and their behavior but really don't give them much attention. Theres a big old lady dog at my end of the house that really doesn't get around well that seems to be the boss. I get along with her well. She sleeps on one spot on the couch and I take another. We coexist well but she doesn't play. I'm starting to enjoy this new activity referred to as play. I'm not good at it, but I'll come around. I don't recall this being an activity in my past. Now that I'm healed from them removing my puppy maker, Im looking for a new family who is going to take me to the next level. I can't wait to meet that someone who needs nothing more than a lot of love and companionship. If that's you, I'm your girl. And don't forget, I'm your good luck charm, who is very smart and will do my best to protect you. If you meet me, you'll love me. Everyone does. I'm pretty cute, funny and can talk or dance with the best of them. You'll see!
Cricket is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and tick disease tested and in preventatives and had a recent dental cleaning.
