Introducing Franklin! This handsome puppy has a big heart and big paws. He loves to be loved and snuggled, and just the right face rub will cause him to topple over in sheer delight. His enthusiasm for lapping up water flowing out of the garden hose and pawing at the water bowl until it spills so he can lay down and cool his belly make his foster family laugh. Franklin is a good-natured pup, who is perfectly fine with any of his humans picking him up and toting him around, even the three-year-old! He plays great with his biological brother, Freddie, and his foster sister, who is a giant puppy of 18 months, who can sometimes be a lot, but he is able to set his boundaries (maybe with the funniest, most dramatic cry). He also lives with older dogs, who aren't as much fun, and he's very respectful of their boundaries.

Franklin does incredibly well in his crate, likes his crate (especially if you give him a toy or a Kong filled with yummy things), and only barks/whines to let you know when he needs to go outside. He loves a good nap, and you might have to pick him up to take him outside. He never darts out of his crate...you may even say he's a bit aloof at times, but in the best ways. He'll be your best friend, if you occasionally add a scrambled egg or a dollop of pumpkin to his food. He's attentive and smart, and a simple, firm "uh-uh" will deter him from any negative puppy behaviors. He is usually eager to please.

Franklin does well with new people, calm settings, and chaotic settings. He's just a really good, all-around pup! He has daily exposure to a bunny in a hutch and chickens freely roaming. Occasionally, he and his brother think it's great fun to chase the chickens (who doesn't love to watch a chicken run?!), but he has never harmed one, and is very good-natured with them.

This sweet boy will surely make an outstanding family member.
