Houston - Australian Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Ladson, South Carolina

Houston is a 13-week old sweetheart who was surrendered through no fault of his own, but because the owners realized an Aussie puppy was not appropriate for their lifestyle.

Houston is confident, friendly, intelligent and, of course, high energy. He loves dogs, cats and people of all ages. He is crate-trained, is quickly learning leash skills and basic commands, and rides well in a car. He made himself right at home in his new foster home and just adores his Labrador foster brother, so we would love if his forever home had another dog.

Being a typical Aussie puppy, he needs adopters familiar with the needs of this working dog breed, including lots of exercise, training and mental stimulation. We expect his full-grown weight to be about 40 pounds.

WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs.

If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name.

ADOPTION FEE of $695 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible.

We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage or our
FB site to find out where we will be this week.

Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.
