Meet Carmelo!

Carmelo is a gorgeous 6-month-old Red Merle Australian Shepherd with a big personality and an even bigger love for fun!

This sweet, sassy girl is always ready for action. She loves playing Frisbee, chasing balls, and wrestling with her doggie foster siblings. With her intelligence, energy, and eagerness to learn, we think Carmelo would have an absolute blast learning agility and would make a wonderful companion for an active family who enjoys hiking, long walks, and outdoor adventures.

Carmelo didn't get the training and guidance she needed during the first few months of her life, so she's still working on her manners. She's looking for a family who understands the needs of a young, intelligent herding breed and is willing to continue her training and help her become the amazing dog we know she can be.

Crate trained — she sleeps well and feels safe in her crate
Loves snuggling with her humans
Active, playful, smart, and ready to learn!

Because of her natural herding instincts, Carmelo is still learning how to play gently with people. For that reason, she would do best in a home without children under 13.

Carmelo is looking for more than just a home—she's looking for a family who will give her the time, training, exercise, and love she needs to thrive. In return, you'll get one smart, adventurous, affectionate girl who will be ready to join you for whatever comes next!

**Research this breed. It is not a cute dog for grandma or someone who wants a sedentary lifestyle.
If you like to take a little stroll through your neighborhood once in awhile, this is not the dog for you.

If you like to hike, run, are very active and understand a puppy that needs a lot of mental stimulation, You may be the right person.
And/or the right person will have other high energy dogs that like to play, wrestle and love adventures as well as have a fenced yard to play in.
Remember... she was surrendered because the people realized she needed more.
It's not about finding a home...it's about finding the right home.
