Meet Belle!!
This beautiful little girl and her five siblings were just hours away from losing their lives. They had been placed on the euthanasia list and, after receiving six extensions, we were finally able to save them right before the Fourth of July. Their brave mama was named Liberty, and each of her babies received a patriotic name to celebrate their second chance at life.
At only 4 weeks old, Belle is a precious Australian Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix (our best guess!) with a whole world of adventures waiting for her. She's still a tiny baby, but she's growing stronger every day in foster care and will be ready to travel to her forever family in 45 weeks, after she receives her second round of puppy vaccines.
Her mama is a sweet 45-pound Cattle Dog mix who has done an incredible job caring for her puppies. Liberty adores her babies, and it's clear that Belle has inherited her mama's gentle, loving nature.
Right now, Belle is discovering all the little joys of puppyhood—wobbly steps, playful tumbles with her siblings, and long, cozy naps piled together after a busy day of exploring. Her personality is just beginning to emerge, and we're already seeing a sweet, curious, and affectionate puppy who loves being close to her people.
Like far too many puppies in Texas, Belle didn't get the safe start every puppy deserves. Thankfully, she's now surrounded by love, full bellies, soft blankets, and kind hands in foster care. Every day she learns a little more about what it means to be cherished.
Because she's still so young, Belle will need a family ready for all the fun (and work!) that comes with raising a puppy. She'll need help with crate training, house training, leash walking, socialization, and all the puppy basics. With patience, consistency, and lots of positive reinforcement, she has all the potential to grow into an amazing lifelong companion.
Australian Shepherd and Cattle Dog mixes are known for being smart, loyal, active, and eager to bond with their families. Belle will thrive with a family committed to giving her plenty of exercise, enrichment, training, and, most importantly, love.
If you're ready to welcome a sweet puppy into your home and watch her grow into your very best friend, Belle may be the perfect addition to your family.
