Kanelo - Australian Shepherd and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Green Bay, Wisconsin

Kanelo is a happy, affectionate boy who seems to enjoy just about everything life has to offer! He's potty trained, has wonderful manners, and is an all-around polite companion. He doesn't jump on people, settles quickly in new situations, and is happy to kennel when his people leave the house. Once he's in his crate, he simply relaxes quietly until they return.

Kanelo loves being near his people and soaking up attention. Ear scratches and hip rubs are some of his favorite things, and when he meets someone new, his whole body wiggles with excitement! He's also a playful guy who loves a good game of fetch and does a great job bringing the ball back and dropping it without being asked. Crinkle toys are another favorite, and he has the cutest habit of stretching out his front legs while letting out a big groan.

This boy has an adventurous side, too! He loves being outdoors, exploring new places, and going for walks at county parks. He's a great car rider and seems more interested in enjoying the journey than stopping to mark every tree along the way. On leash, he pays attention to where his person is and will slow down if he starts pulling. He's a smart dog, although he may need some help learning basic commands.

Kanelo has been the only dog in his foster home, but he recently had a small Australian Shepherd visitor and handled the interaction politely. When she let him know she needed space, he backed off without an issue.

Kanelo would love an active family who enjoys getting outside, going for walks, playing fetch, and including their dog in everyday adventures. He does have a strong interest in chasing outdoor critters, so he'll need to be kept safe with a fenced yard, leash, or secure tie-out when outside.

Friendly, well-mannered, affectionate, and full of life, Kanelo is a wonderful boy who is ready to find a family to share all his adventures with. He has so much love to give and would be thrilled to have a home where he can be part of the action and then relax close to his favorite people.
