Tucker is a 7-year-old large dog currently being cared for in foster care through Da Vinci's Dream, a foster-based nonprofit dog rescue in Kentucky.

Meet Tucker, a handsome Australian Shepherd born around June 1, 2019, who's ready to find his forever family!

Tucker is a crate-trained, affectionate boy who loves being with his people. Whether it's a trip to the park, a walk around the neighborhood, a weekend adventure, or simply running errands, Tucker is happiest when he's included. He loves going places and being part of whatever you're doing.

True to his breed, Tucker is smart, loyal, and eager to please. He'll thrive with a family that enjoys an active lifestyle and wants a devoted companion by their side. After a day of fun, Tucker is more than happy to relax and enjoy quality time with the people he loves.

HEALTH & VETERINARY CARE

All of our rescue dogs receive medical care before adoption and are placed only after they are ready for a home.

Each dog is:

Spayed or neutered (if age appropriate)
Fully vaccinated
Microchipped
Heartworm tested
Maintained on heartworm prevention
Treated for fleas and ticks
Dewormed as needed

Adopters can feel confident knowing their new companion has received essential care through our foster-based rescue program.

HOW TO APPLY TO ADOPT

If you are interested in adopting, please understand that clicking Im Interested or submitting an inquiry through Petfinder is not an adoption application.

To be considered:

Submit an adoption application through our website
Our volunteer team reviews all applications carefully
Dogs are matched based on best fit, not first-come, first-served

Because we are a volunteer-run nonprofit rescue, application review can take up to 10 days, and sometimes longer depending on volume.

If you do not hear from us after that time, it means we have chosen not to move forward with your application.

ABOUT OUR FOSTER-BASED RESCUE

We are a foster-based nonprofit dog rescue located in Kentucky. Our dogs live in foster homes rather than in a public shelter setting, which helps us better understand their personalities, routines, and needs before adoption.

This allows us to make thoughtful placement decisions that support long-term success for both the dog and adopter.

TRANSPORT INFORMATION

Although our dogs are fostered in Kentucky, we also offer transport for approved adopters in select locations.

Current transport locations:

Greenwood, Indiana
Wilmington, Ohio
Washington, Pennsylvania
Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania

Transport is available only after:

Application approval
Deposit payment
Signed transport agreement

A transport label means the dog may travel through our scheduled transport program once these steps are completed.

Is this dog still available?

If the dog is listed and does not show adoption pending on our website, we are still accepting applications.

Please note that many dogs receive multiple applications.

Is the dog potty trained?

Unless specifically stated in the dogs bio, assume potty training is still in progress.

Many rescue dogs come from difficult backgrounds and may need patience, consistency, and training in their new home.

Do you respond to every application?

We review every application carefully, but due to the volume we receive, we cannot respond individually to every applicant.
