Ellie is truly something special. She’s incredibly social with all animals and people, and her personality is the perfect mix of playful, affectionate, intelligent, and cuddly. She’s the kind of dog who fits seamlessly into a family and brings joy wherever she goes. Honestly, she’s about as close to a “perfect family dog” as it gets.

Ellie is also brilliant. She loves to learn, thrives on interaction, and has already shown signs that she would absolutely excel in activities like agility or other training-based enrichment. She enjoys showing off her skills and is eager to please, making her a dream for anyone who wants a fun, engaged companion.

She’s crate trained, loves car rides, and is nearly finished with her leash training. Ellie is picking up on everything quickly and just continues to impress us every day.

It’s hard to believe that this incredible girl was once scheduled to be euthanized at the Glen Rose Animal Shelter simply because she is deaf. But here’s the thing: being deaf is all Ellie has ever known, and it doesn’t slow her down one bit. In fact, it makes her even more attentive, intuitive, and connected to her people. Deaf dogs like Ellie are incredibly special, and she proves that every single day.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet / the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Ellie's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
