DESCRIPTION
Moose (A142502) is an 8-month-old Aussie mix who weighed nearly 30 lbs at intake! Medical: Moose was treated for fleas while at the shelter, and per the vet's recommendation, he should receive another flea treatment on July 22nd. 06/20/26 These handsome brothers are Milo and Moose! These boys arrived at the shelter as strays, and now they are ready to find their new homes. We would highly encourage that Milo and Moose go to separate homes, as they have become co-dependent on each other and are showing early signs of littermate syndrome. Moose has really blossomed into a social, happy guy! Milo can be shy, but he turns into a sweet little puddle after slow, calm introductions. We would highly recommend Milo goes to a home without small children due to his shy and sometimes fearful behavior. We do not know how these boys feel about cats or other animals, including other dogs, so please make sure any and all introductions are done in a slow and controlled manner. They may need some help with training, including kennel training and potty training. They are still young and eager to learn, so we are sure they will pick things up quick! We are taking a wild guess on their breed because they are littermates and look so vastly different! They may have a little Aussie, a little Kelpie, a little Heeler or maybe none of those and they're just Heinz 57 mixes! A DNA breed test would be interesting to find out! If you are interested in meeting either of these brothers, please give the shelter a call!
ABOUT: AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD DOG BREED
The Australian Shepherd is a highly intelligent and energetic herding dog known for its loyalty and work ethic. Originating in the United States, despite its name, this breed is prized for its agility, trainability, and versatility in various dog sports and activities. Australian Shepherds have a distinctive medium length coat that comes in different colors, often with unique merle patterns. With proper training, socialization, and exercise, these dogs make excellent companions for active families and individuals seeking a devoted and playful four legged friend.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
