Mojo - Australian Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Elk River, Minnesota

Mojo is a 5 year old golden bi Aussie who is neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on shots. Mojo originally came to ARM after his owner had to go into assisted living and there was no family that could take him in. He was adopted but has been returned when his adoptive family learned that they couldn't manage his exuberant, not-very-polite leash manners. So Mojo is on the hunt for his new family that doesn't mind needing to put in the work to help him learn how to be a gentleman on leash.

Mojo is the most jubilant, happy-go-lucky pup you'll ever meet. He had a great time meeting everyone at Wigglefest - it didn't matter if you were a four legged pup, a kid or an adult; everyone was his friend and he enjoyed all the pets and scritches.

In his foster home, he is noted to be curious and respectful of other dogs, extremely athletic, and is very food motivated. Wants to the bestest boy and is eager to please.

Mojo is crate trained and house broken. He is doing better learning how to walk on the lead in his foster home but his first instinct is to pull you along. Recall is coming along, but still is a challenge. It would not be considered as reliable, so his new home will need to consider how they will keep him safe until trusted recall is established. Mojo is also extremely motivated to meet new people so he does have a bit of wanderlust - his new family must have a plan to keep him safe if they do not have a fence. He will not initially respect invisible property lines so it is paramount that he be supervised while outside for the foreseeable future if the home does not have a fence.
