DESCRIPTION

Hi! I’m Lisa. I was born May 17, 2021, so I’m just over 5 years old. I was recently spayed and I am up to date on my shots. I am a pretty Aussie/Golden Retriever mix with a lovely full tail. I also have beautiful, mostly black hair/fur with some white on my chest and a few gray speckles on my face. I am a very intelligent girl and learn things very quickly.

My current vet said I am somewhat overweight, around 55 lbs, and my foster mom cut back on the amount I eat. I’m okay with it and am not a counter surfer but I do like treats on occasion.

I know the commands “sit”, “stay”, “outside”, “breakfast” (for meals), “Lisa” and others. I am very loving and love to be petted and want to be near my humans and other companion animals.
I would do best in a home with at least one other dog because I rely on their cues on what to do. I get along with every dog and cat I have ever met!

I would do best with a family with kids 5 years or older who can remain calm around me and not be too wild. I would probably really like a family with some acreage I can run around and sniff and maybe even go for a walk or jog with you. I do like to herd the kids I live with, but I promise I will never bite or harm them! I have never even nipped at a person.

I have never run away from home. Once the gate was left open and I didn’t even leave the yard! I’m a very good girl.

I do struggle with anxious feelings; I do best when I have slow introductions to new people and animals, but once I'm comfortable, I am happy to have them around. I am pretty good on a leash though my anxiety makes it difficult to get the leash on me and get me out the door. My foster mom has to sometimes carry me outside; I really do like walks, but my inner voice sometimes has me overthinking the "what ifs" and that's where my doggy friend(s) would really help me gain some confidence and quiet my mind. I have to admit, I'm not a fan of car rides, but I haven't gone on many so maybe one day I will enjoy car rides; I just ask that my new family has a way to keep me safe while I travel.

I am pretty chill and love love LOVE to be in my crate. It is my safe space. I rarely bark unless something I can’t see makes a noise I’m not expecting.
