Anna, the incredible mother of the litter of 10 puppies, is now looking for her new home! She's a beautiful spayed 4 year old black tri with heterochromia eyes (1 brown/1 blue) and a docked tail. She weighs around 55 lbs, but is still losing her pregnancy weight, and is up to date on shots.
Anna is a super gentle girl. She has had a hectic last couple of months and is still unsure of who she should trust. She had a young litter that she was caring for when she first came to rescue, which makes it stressful and challenging for a new mom to navigate.
Anna does have a desire to bond; she has developed a trust for those who have been caring for her but still can be skittish, even with those she knows. She loves cuddles and treats and she is generally timid and quiet. Anna likes to find a safe place to curl up in and be out of the way.
She loves to be outside and lay in the grass and does play some with the resident dog. Anna will stick close when outside, looking for reinforcement. She has great recall, coming almost immediately, but at times, she’ll be reluctant to come in the house. She may need coaxing when she’s feeling nervous. She walks really well on leash, but will not go potty while on a walk. She does not pull or jump, mainly circles around you.
She is great with other dogs, showing no fear or aggression. She has met small kids and is happy to let them pet her, but mostly ignores them. She has not been exposed to infants or toddlers that her fosters are aware of.
Anna looks to be a low to medium energy girl, who would do best in a calm home where she can have lots of love. The perfect home for her is one that has experience with Aussies, has a stable, calm home, a mature dog that she can look to for behavior cues, older respectful children, and looking for a soft marshmallow to love and join their home.
The details:
Need fence: Would be a bonus, but not required. Trusted recall would have to be established before going off leash.
Good with dogs: Preferrably calm, mature dogs
Good with cats: Unknown
Good with kids: Older ages okay
All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $400 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.
