Minnie is a beautiful two and a half-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with a striking black coat and an adorable white-speckled snout being re-homed from an adopter. She's an incredibly smart girl who thrives when she has structure, patience, and someone she can trust. The adopter has shared the following information:
Minnie completed professional training through K9 Off Leash and knows basic obedience. She enjoys having a job to do and is happiest when she's mentally engaged. Once she bonds with her person, she is deeply loyal and wants nothing more than to be by their side.
Like many herding breeds, Minnie can be wary of strangers and has shown reactivity toward unfamiliar people—especially some men—and other animals. She has bitten one person in the past, so she will need an experienced adopter who understands reactive dogs, is committed to continued training, and can help her build confidence through positive reinforcement and thoughtful management.
Because of her behavioral history, Minnie would do best in a calm, predictable home where introductions to new people can happen slowly and thoughtfully. She is not the kind of dog who will instantly love everyone she meets—but when she trusts you, her love is unwavering.
