Jumpin’ Joyful JULIE
Julie is a one-year-old, 35-pound sweetheart with the perfect mix of playful Aussie energy and loving companionship.
Outdoors Julie’s energy level is about an 8–9, and she absolutely thrives running, playing, and exploring with other dogs. Julie is athletic, agile, and incredibly impressive physically — she can jump nearly six feet and would likely excel at agility or other dog sports with continued training. She’s very smart, highly treat motivated, praise driven, and eager to learn, making her a wonderful candidate for continued obedience or activity training.
In a good in a good contrast, Julie’s really well behaved inside she settles down quickly if she’s got people that she can cuddle or snuggle with or if she’s got toys that she can play with she can entertain herself with those. She’s especially good with the companionship of another dog.
While Julie may be a little shy when first meeting new people, she warms up quickly with gentle attention, pets, and praise. Once she trusts you, she becomes an affectionate, snuggly companion who loves being close to her people. She has all the classic Aussie “velcro dog” qualities and enjoys following her humans from room to room just to be nearby. Julie is extremely people focused and eager to please, with great recall and excellent responsiveness to her name. She already knows basic commands and even learns the names of her toys — when you ask for a specific toy, she knows exactly which one you mean.
Julie has been fostered with a young male Australian Shepherd, and the two became best friends. She would likely thrive in a home with another confident, friendly dog because she enjoys companionship and tends to happily follow another dog’s lead. Indoors, Julie settles beautifully and is calm, quiet, crate trained, and housebroken. She entertains herself wonderfully with toys, often tossing them around for herself or proudly carrying her favorite toy through the house. Although she may bark briefly when unfamiliar people first arrive, she settles quickly once she realizes they’re friends, and overall she is not a big barker.
Julie would make an excellent family dog for an active person, couple, or family with older children who can appreciate both her playful side and her affectionate nature. She is truly looking for a forever home where she can be loved, included, and part of the family adventure every day.
