It was the sweetest of pups, it was the blurriest of pups; it was the age of zoomies, it was the age of snuggles.

It was the season of toys flying through the air, it was the season of quiet shadows at your side...

Two puppies, two completely different operating systems, somehow perfectly balanced and both looking for homes of their own.

Meet Happy and Kindness.

Happy is exactly what he sounds like: a spunky, toy-in-mouth, always-moving kind of kid. If there's a toy, he has it. If there's space, he's using it. If there's fun to be had...he's already three steps into it.

He's mostly housebroken, sleeps through the night in a crate, and absolutely loves his people...he just doesn't quite understand why anyone would stop moving long enough to snuggle. Life is happening and he has things to do.

He appears to be hearing impaired but is likely unilaterally hearing, and it doesn't slow him down in the slightest. He's just tuned into the world a little differently and honestly, he's doing just fine with it. He can hear a treat bag shaking, it just takes a moment for him to figure out the direction it is coming from.

He would love a playful dog friend, someone to run, romp, and share life with (and maybe steal toys from mid-zoom... just saying).

Happy brings the energy. Kindness brings the calm. They're so very different (as all the pups in this litter are)... and that's exactly what makes them special. Both are sweet, social, and looking for homes that will continue to guide them, teach them, and let them grow into the dogs they're meant to be.

We are happy to consider applicants from out of state on most dogs. Please read the description to see if this dog is an exception. If the applicant is approved to adopt, they MUST be willing to come to our location in Troy, VA, for a meet and greet. If all parties agree that the pup and family are a good fit, they would take the pup home at that time.

GDU does ask a minimum adoption fee of $400.00. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying, if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well.
