Birdy - Australian Kelpie and Doberman Pinscher Dog for Adoption in San Diego, California

Meet Birdy!

Meet Your New Best Friend!

Birdy was rescued from a high kill shelter in imperial county! He is thought to be just under a year old with lots of energy, he still needs to be neutered which will be done with the assistance of the rescue! He's thought to be a variety of breeds, Doberman or maybe shepherd?

The Good Stuff:
Ultimate People Pup: Extremely friendly, loves all humans, and greets everyone on walks with a wagging tail.
Cuddle Bug & Gentle Soul: Takes treats gently, loves snuggles, and handles paws/ears/tail handling with zero fuss.
Walk & Smart Star: Walks nicely on leash, non-reactive, and already knows "sit" and "down" (he's super smart and food-motivated!).
House-Trained & Respectful: Zero destructive chewing on furniture or carpets, doesn't jump fences, and has no resource guarding with humans.
Dog & Cat Friendly: Great with other dogs (loves to play!) and cat-curious without chasing.

Working On:
Puppy Energy & Manners: Has fun high energy and needs a little time to wind down. Needs supervision around loose items and feeding separate from other dogs.
Vocal in the Crate/Car: Working through some separation anxiety-he will bark initially in his crate and during car rides.
