Wade - Australian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler Dog for Adoption in Sudbury, Massachusetts

Wade came in from Webster Parish animal control as a stray, but nobody can believe that he remained unclaimed. He is one handsome and easy-going dog! LAMA, our rescue partners in Louisiana, took him in and treated him for heartworm. They said they cannot wait for him to enjoy cooler temperatures and thrive in the environment in MA. He is a special guy that everyone loves. He walks nicely on leash, doesn't pull, and is an easy keeper. He loves the out doors so may enjoy a more suburban or rural setting. He weighs just 40 lbs. and appears to have some Heeler or Northern breed. Wade is independent in that he does not demand attention and is not in-your-face. The Australian Cattle Dog, also known as the Blue Heeler, is a hardworking and intelligent breed originally developed in Australia for herding cattle. Renowned for their endurance and agility, these medium sized dogs have a striking blue or red speckled coat and alert, curious expression. With a strong herding instinct and boundless energy, they require mental stimulation and physical activity to thrive. Blue Heelers are loyal, protective, and make excellent companions for active individuals or families willing to provide the engagement and exercise they need.
