Meet Stella
Get the tissues. Stella and her family (2 puppies, and possibly a sister) were recently dumped at a park.
It's believed they came from a hoarding situation, and the care — or lack thereof — they endured is
unknown. Despite her past, Stella is making remarkable progress in her foster home, and her foster mom
believes that in the right home, with the right people loving her, she'll continue to shine like the star she
is.

Stella is still adjusting to indoor life and "containment.
" She had likely never been crated, inside a home,
or walked on a leash before she was rescued 4 weeks ago. New sounds and locations can scare her, and
she'll pancake if you move too quickly above her.

She is an excited/submissive pee-er.
Crate and potty training are going well! She stays in her crate for periods of time without issue — though
she'd much rather be glued to her foster mom's side (or feet, more on that below) — and she's had no
accidents in the house besides the excited pee, which she can't control. She's also walking well on a leash.


Stella is HIGH energy. Maybe it's all the excitement of two square meals a day, A/C, love, and human
touch, but when she's out of her crate, the energy abounds. Because she just wants to please, her foster
mom sees nothing but potential for training, obedience, and even sports. Even if it's just jumping a few
hurdles in the backyard, she'll do what you ask once she understands — and she catches on quickly.


As she's acclimated to a human who is kind and loves her, she's also shown herself to be a VERY SILLY
girl. True to her breed, she has a little infatuation with feet. She doesn't nip, but she loves to pounce on
them — bare feet, shoed feet, even rain boots, she loves them all. There's nothing sweeter than
watching Stella let out the silly, puppy-ish side her foster mom believes she was once punished for, or
never allowed to show.

Due to her nervous tendencies, Stella's ideal home would be a quiet, rural location or a suburban
neighborhood without much activity. She's still acclimating to car rides, and it's highly recommended she
be crated while riding or fastened in with a seatbelt harness, as she'll try to hide under the seat.

Stella has lived with other dogs, but introductions in her new home should be slow for the best success.

She's met cats — likely for the first time — in her foster home and shows no signs of aggression or chase;
she's just curious and nervously wags her tail. She hasn't met children in foster, and due to her
nervousness, homes with small children are not recommended.

She is up to date on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, has been wormed with a negative fecal test, and
is spayed, rabies-vaccinated, and microchipped.
