DESCRIPTION
Hi there, I’m Mika!
Let’s get the important questions out of the way first. Here are some details:
✨ Approximately 2 years old
✨ 39 pounds
✨ Spayed and microchipped
✨ Fully up to date on vaccines, flea prevention, and heartworm prevention
Okay, now onto the fun part—my story! Not too long ago, I was hanging out in a shelter in North Carolina when I got the news: I had a foster family waiting for me in Florida!! Honestly? Best news ever! I packed absolutely nothing and hit the road immediately.
Before making it to Florida, I had a little pit stop for heartworm treatment with an amazing vet. It was less “vacation vibes” and more “medical retreat”, but the important thing is—I’m all healthy now and officially ready for forever-home life!
Let me just say WOW… Florida has been pretty amazing. I live with foster dog brothers and a sister, and I fit right in. I love to play, but I also know how to read the room. I’m respectful of boundaries, easygoing, and honestly pretty chill for a cattle dog. Don’t get me wrong—I enjoy adventures and playtime… but I am also deeply passionate about couch cuddles, snacks, and emotionally supporting you during Netflix marathons. Actually, if you adopt me, you should probably just assume you’ll never go anywhere alone again.
Kitchen? I’m coming.
Bathroom? I’ll supervise.
Couch? Move over slightly please.
I just really love being close to my people. I’m also: potty trained, crate trained, great on a leash, and very motivated by treats and praise. Seriously, tell me I’m a good girl and hand me a cookie? I’ll learn literally anything. I’m basically a tiny furry overachiever.
At the end of the day, I’m just looking for a family to call my own—a place where I can keep being my sweet, goofy, snuggly self forever.
If you’ve been searching for a loyal best friend who will love you with her whole heart…I think we should meet!
Love Mika
Here are some words from my FOSTER PARENTS!
Every once in a while, a foster dog comes into your home and just… fits. That’s Mika. Her name means “new moon”, and it couldn’t fit her more perfectly because just like a new moon marks the beginning of a new phase, Mika is ready for her new life: new adventures, new things to learn, and most importantly, a forever home filled with love.
From day one, she settled into our family like she had always belonged here. She’s incredibly easy to live with, wonderfully affectionate, and has truly been one of our most enjoyable foster dogs.
Mika has a fantastic temperament and would do well in so many different kinds of homes. She’s social and playful with other dogs, but also knows how to settle and relax. She respects boundaries beautifully, reads other dogs well, and doesn’t bring chaos or drama into the house.
For a cattle dog, Mika has a surprisingly calm and balanced personality. She enjoys walks, playtime, and adventures, but she’s equally happy curled up beside you on the couch for the rest of the evening. And when we say “beside you,” we really mean ON you. She is the ultimate Velcro dog and just wants to be close to her people at all times.
She’s potty trained, crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is incredibly eager to learn. Give her a treat and tell her she’s a good girl, and she’ll happily volunteer for absolutely anything.
As for cats… Mika did meet some in the shelter and decided they were not part of her personal life plan. She wasn’t aggressive -just confused, uncomfortable, and very committed to avoiding interaction altogether.
Honestly, Mika has been such an easy dog to love. She’s sweet, smart, emotionally attached in the best way, and truly feels like the kind of dog who could become someone’s soul dog.
We are going to miss her tremendously, but we can’t wait to see her find the forever family she deserves
