At approximately 3 to 4 years old, Althea ("Allie") is everything so many people love about the breed. She's incredibly intelligent, eager to learn, wonderfully obedient, and always paying attention. But what truly sets her apart is her contagious enthusiasm for life.
Ali wakes up every day convinced it's going to be the best day ever.
She's happy. She's energetic. She's bouncy in the most endearing way. She greets every new adventure with a wagging tail, bright eyes, and a smile that seems to say, "What are we doing next?"
And people? Allie absolutely adores them.
She genuinely wants to be friends with everyone she meets. Whether you're family, a neighbor, or someone she's just met, Allie is ready to say hello with a wagging breakfast sausage tail, plenty of affection, and, if you'll allow it, a hug and a few sweet kisses. She's the kind of dog who believes love is meant to be shared generously.
Her story, however, didn't begin with that same kindness.
Althea, another adult female, and two young puppies were abandoned at a trailer park in Texas and left to fend for themselves. Despite being let down by people, she never let that steal her joyful spirit or her willingness to trust. Thanks to a compassionate rescuer, she's now safe, healthy, fully vetted, and ready to leave that chapter behind forever.
Like any great Blue Heeler, Althea has a sharp mind and thrives on being part of the action. She'll happily join you for walks, hikes, road trips, backyard adventures, or simply "help" with whatever project you're tackling around the house. She doesn't just want exercise—she wants to share life with her people.
At the end of the day, though, she's just as content soaking up affection. Belly rubs, hugs, kisses, and being close to the people she loves are among her favorite things. Her heart is every bit as big as her personality.
Allie has already survived abandonment. Now she's ready for a family who will celebrate the joyful, affectionate, fun-loving dog she's always been.
